Energy Scans on your house can trace areas of leaks

By Glenn Haege. (Used by permission)

Dear Glenn: An interior fireplace in my 1952 vintage home shows signs of some liquid coming down the brick and slightly lightening the brick color. There also are white splotches.

Jay, Howell

Dear Jay: Call Robert Carey at Infrared Services of Michigan, (810) 329-9033, to scan the area and trace the leak from entry to exit point.

Since there will be a basic charge for even getting out to your location, ask him to do an energy scan on the house. The scan will show where you need insulation and where there is heat loss.
